That same night, when the village of Silver Hollow fell into deep sleep, Liora quietly stepped outside her house. The moon hung high in the sky, spreading pale silver light over the fields and rooftops. Everything looked calm, but inside Liora’s heart a storm of curiosity was growing.

She looked once more at the hill where she always listened to the stars.

Then she turned toward the forest.

The dark forest stood like a silent wall beside the village. Its trees were tall and ancient, their branches twisting together as if they were protecting something hidden inside.

Most villagers avoided the forest. Old legends said strange things lived there — shadows that moved without sound and paths that changed when no one was looking.

But the stars had spoken.

And Liora trusted them.

She held a small lantern in her hand and began walking.

The grass beneath her feet whispered softly with every step. As she moved closer, the forest seemed to grow larger, darker, deeper.

At the entrance of the forest, she stopped.

The wind passed through the leaves above her, making a sound that almost felt like breathing.

“Hello?” Liora whispered into the darkness.

No answer came.

But something changed.

The air inside the forest felt different — colder, heavier, as if it carried secrets that had been waiting for centuries.

Taking a deep breath, Liora stepped inside.

The moment she crossed the first line of trees, the sounds of the village disappeared. No barking dogs. No distant voices. Only the quiet rustling of leaves and the soft crunch of earth beneath her shoes.

Her lantern cast a warm circle of light around her, but beyond that circle everything remained hidden in shadows.

She walked slowly.

Step by step.

Minutes passed.

Or maybe hours — the forest made time feel strange.

Suddenly she heard something.

A faint sound.

Not a whisper like the stars.

Not the wind.

It sounded like an echo.

But there had been no voice.

Liora stopped walking.

“Who’s there?” she asked, her voice shaking slightly.

The echo returned again.

Soft.

Distant.

Almost like a memory repeating itself.

Liora followed the sound carefully. It seemed to come from deeper within the forest, where the trees grew thicker and the moonlight could barely reach the ground.

The lantern light flickered.

For a moment, Liora thought she saw something moving between the trees.

A shadow.

But when she looked closer, nothing was there.

She continued walking.

The echo grew clearer.

Now it sounded almost like words — broken pieces of sound floating through the darkness.

“…find…”

“…before…”

“…the gate…”

Liora’s heart beat faster.

“The gate…” she whispered.

The stars had spoken about a gate between worlds.

Could it really exist?

The forest path slowly began to change. The ground became covered with smooth stones instead of soft earth, and the trees around her grew older and wider, their trunks marked with strange patterns carved long ago.

Finally, she reached a small clearing.

In the center of the clearing stood something that made her stop breathing.

It was a stone arch.

Ancient.

Massive.

Covered in glowing symbols that pulsed faintly in the night.

The arch stood alone, with nothing inside it except darkness — like a doorway leading nowhere.

But Liora felt something powerful coming from it.

The air around the arch vibrated gently, like invisible energy flowing through space.

“The gate…” she whispered.

She stepped closer.

The glowing symbols slowly began to shine brighter.

Suddenly the ground trembled slightly.

And from the shadows behind the arch, a deep voice spoke.

“You should not be here.”

Liora froze.

From the darkness emerged a tall figure wrapped in a long cloak. His face was partly hidden, but his eyes glowed faintly like distant stars.

“Who are you?” Liora asked carefully.

The figure looked at her silently for a moment.

Then he spoke again.

“I am the Guardian of the Gate.”

Liora’s lantern flickered in her trembling hand.

“The stars told me to find it,” she said.

The Guardian’s eyes narrowed.

“The stars speak to you?”

Liora nodded slowly.

For a moment, the forest grew completely silent.

Then the Guardian whispered something that made Liora’s heart skip a beat.

“If the stars truly chose you… then the silence is already coming.”

“The silence?” Liora asked.

But before the Guardian could answer, the glowing symbols on the gate suddenly flashed with blinding light.

And the darkness inside the arch began to move.

Something on the other side of the gate… was waking up.
