Teyana Taylor Joins Elite List as Time Magazine Woman of the Year 2026

The multitalented entertainer achieves a new status.

At the outset of Women’s History Month, Teyana Taylor is already in the winner’s circle. Fresh from a Golden Globe win for Best Supporting Actress in the film One Battle After Another, a GRAMMY® nomination, and an Academy Award nomination, she has been named one of TIME Magazine’s Women of the Year.

The power she wields in this entertainment industry stems from her ambition. Everyone said she would become a great actress. She’s eyeing the director’s chair.

In all of her efforts, she aspires to obtain the EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony). And if she doesn’t obtain that Tony, the “T” will stand for Teyana.

This is extraordinary. She’s especially great because she won an NAACP Award. If few other award organizations recognize her, she can at least say that she stood on Representation, Agency, and Honor rather than diversity, equity, and inclusion.

This is the most rewarding sense behind Teyana Taylor’s efforts. She exhibits the qualities of the way she moves through scenes and is motivated by excelling at being the one behind the camera as well.

With the power of her own will and determination, she has grasped and superseded expectations that have been placed on her ever since her inception.

To be named this honor is to claim her greatness through all the years of her work. Teyana Taylor is the Queen of the Screen and Stereo. This notion used to bother me, the kings and queens honorifics being placed on people. But now I view it as admissible because of the labor that individuals had to put in and go through to achieve such statuses.

It takes all the right amount of talent and ability, timing, and execution in order to be the King of Rock, Pop, Rap; this means you have to be the best to be Queen of Soul, Gospel, and R&B. Teyana should be lauded and applauded for the work she has generated over the past few years. And 2025 was a huge year for her. Her accolades increased because of the work ethic she shoots out into the universe.

All of the time she had been hustling and grinding, she portrayed both a law enforcement officer and an anarchist in the same year. In each role she gives her all and distinguishes herself from her peers. This is the empowerment that should be recognized and embraced by men and women and of all colors.

Teyana has discovered something great in the way she molds her characters and her voice. She has been the most intriguing figure in the past decade in terms of film and music. The closest might be Ariana Grande. But Teyana has just that bit more of excellence that she has shown in her career. Once she picked up a microphone and sang or got in the video and danced or stepped on the camera view and performed, she carried with her an understanding of all media.

Her next steps should be humongous as she will be sent scripts and record deals and collaborations that will advance her life. She’s been getting good press and her PR machine is deep. As she extends to wider audiences around the globe, she still stays authentic. She’s living to work instead of working to live. She has a renewed sense of what to do in their world and shows that she can be a major player in the game.

Just as long as she can deliver powerhouse performances and show herself to be an asset and not a liability, she will be a great fixture in the land of all the dreams.
