The 8th Day

32 And on the seventh day, God looked upon the heavens and upon the earth and upon the waters under the firmament, and He saw them completed in their vast array. And God saw that this was good.

33 Then God prepared to rest from all His work.

34 God looked upon mankind, whom He had made in His own image and whom He had bidden to rule over all the fish of the seas and the birds of the air and the beasts of the land, as stewards under His authority.

35 And God saw mankind ruling not as stewards of creation under His authority, but as lords on their own authority and to their own glory. And God saw this was not good.

36 And God saw the misuse and cruelty and waste that mankind visited upon His creation. And God saw this was not good.

37 And furthermore God beheld mankind ruling over one another, not in service to the lowly but as tyrants in service to themselves. And God saw this was not good.

38 And God saw the vastness of mankind's evil works and He saw these were not good.

39 Then God saw that his work was not done, therefore He could not yet rest. And God said, "Let the evil works of mankind be marked by clear signs for all to see and to condemn."

40 And God said, "Let there be money, to circulate among the people and let money flow to facilitate exchange. And let money fester and grow stagnant where it accumulates beyond need. Let money accumulate in relation to one's depth of evil."

41 And there was money and God saw that money was useful as it sorted mankind according to the depth of their evil and money stagnated around evil men according to their greed.

42 And God said, "The evil in mankind shall cling to money. And money shall cling to mankind in turn, as filth clings to soiled garments. Let a man’s or woman's or a people's accumulation of money stand as a testament for all to see, and as proof of their wrongdoing. Let those who accumulate in excess be called 'rich', for none shall accumulate except through the evils of violence, waste, and greed. And let those who are righteous be called 'poor', for they shall detest money and its works. And let rich and poor be ever at odds, let the rich suppress the poor for love of money and let the poor rebel against the rich for love of justice."

43 Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, for on the late evening of that seventh day He finally completed all His work, the work of creating.

44 And as God prepared to rest from all his work, God said, "Let this seventh night be marked by humanity over the passing of many centuries and ages, in which humanity will have dominion over all creation. For though it will pass as one night for us, it shall be drawn out over many millennia for humankind and all the creatures of the earth. During this period let Us not intervene against the evils of humanity, but let us allow them to move about the world and do what evil or what good they will.

45 And God said, “and as mankind do their works, let money cling to those who usher forth their own judgment. And let it be so, until the dawn of the Eigth Day and on the Eighth Day let Us look and see who has accumulated money as a sign of their evil works, so that We may pour out Our wrath upon them, the rich, in measures according to their own greed."

46 And woe to those who accumulate money as a beacon of God’s coming wrath! For while the LORD rests through the seventh night, He will wake at the dawn of the Eigth Day and He will look and lay fire upon the crowns of the unrighteous.
