Part XXXV: Hot Summer Bods in Women's Sports & Fitness
Sprinting to the top of their worlds

We're 35 deep in this series. Today we celebrate more women in the world of track and field. The sport took a big hit as all others did in due to COVID-19, however we can't say enough how impressed we are with the amazing women that we continue to find who are pushing forward.
These women are leaders of the future. Their quests to be the best at what they do makes them living examples of what greatness looks like.
Ty'Juana Eason
At Southern Illinois, Ty'Juana Eason was as good as it gets. In 2020, she won indoor championships in the 60 meters, 200 meters and 1,600-meter relay at the Missouri Valley Conference meet. In 2019, she did the same exact thing.
Over her career she won numerous championships and has wrapped up her career to study for her masters degree. She's also got a fitness page on Instagram. She talks to her followers through video posts. During a question and answer session she talked about what inspired her to dedicate herself to fitness.
"I feel like track really pushed me into this very fit and healthy lifestyle," Eason said. "Just wanting to be healthy for myself and healthy for the people around me. It's a lot of things that have been passed down in my family, as well as other people's families, such as diabetes, heart attacks and high blood pressure. So I think that having those things run in my family is what pushed me to fitness."
Suerethia Henderson
Youngstown State has had a dominant lineage of sprinters in the Horizon League over the past decade. Suerethia Henderson is continuing the school's legacy and greatness.
Over her first two seasons at YSU she has two runner-up finishes in the 200-meter dash at the Horizon League indoor championship meet. As a freshman she placed second in the league 60-meter dash championship race and was third in 2020.
Henderson also placed second during the 2019 Horizon League Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes. She won her first conference title as a member of the 400-meter relay squad.
Kayla Foy
Prior to transferring to North Carolina A&T, Kayla Foy made a name for herself at Winston-Salem State, where she qualified for the NCAA championship meet during the outdoor season in 2017 and the 2018 indoor season. In 2018, Foy won the conference crown in the 60-meter dash at the CIAA indoor championship meet.
This year at North Carolina A&T, she had a strong showing at the MEAC indoor championship meet with a third place finish in the the 60-meter dash. She also qualified for the conference finals in the 200-meter dash.
