Oracle Card Readings: Insight, Intuition, and Possibility
How I Read the Cards
There are moments in life when logic alone isn’t enough.
You feel something stirring beneath the surface of a situation — a question that won’t leave you alone, a crossroads you can’t quite see clearly, or a quiet sense that the universe might be trying to say something.
That’s where the cards come in.
Oracle card readings are part symbolism, part intuition, and part conversation with the unseen threads that weave through our lives. The cards themselves are tools — beautiful ones — but the real magic happens in the space between the images, the symbols, and the intuitive impressions that rise to the surface during a reading.
Every reading is a moment of reflection, discovery, and possibility.
Tarot vs. Oracle: Two Different Kinds of Magic
Many people are familiar with tarot cards, but oracle cards move through a slightly different kind of mystical language.
Tarot follows a very specific structure: a 78-card system that symbolically tells the story of The Fool’s journey. Beginning with The Fool — the archetype of curiosity, risk, and new beginnings — the tarot moves through a sequence of life lessons, archetypes, trials, and transformations that mirror the human experience.
Oracle cards, however, are far more free-spirited.
An oracle deck can be anything its creator dreams it to be. Some decks speak through animals, plants, or the wild intelligence of nature. Others carry messages from guides, spirits, or archetypal energies. Some cards contain written messages, while others speak purely through image and symbol.
In other words, tarot tells a story.
Oracle cards whisper many.
The Decks I Work With
The decks I use reflect the mystical, earthy, and sometimes shadow-touched aspects of the world.
Some of my cards feature nature imagery, drawing from the wisdom of forests, animals, and the quiet language of the natural world. Others embrace skeletons and skulls, symbols not of fear but of transformation, mortality, and the deep cycles of life and rebirth. I also work with decks designed to carry messages from spiritual guides, offering insight that feels almost like a conversation across unseen realms.
Sometimes I choose a deck based on the question being asked, but I tend to stick with two decks for all of my general readings.
Like any good tool of divination, the cards have their own personalities — and occasionally they seem to choose the reading as much as the reader does.
How I Read the Cards
My readings blend the meanings of the cards with intuition.
When a card appears, I look at the imagery, the symbols, and any words printed on the card. Sometimes a specific phrase jumps out immediately. Other times it’s a color, an expression on a figure’s face, or a small detail that suddenly feels important.
And sometimes it’s simply a feeling. A sense that the card is pointing toward something deeper.
During a reading, I share:
- The traditional or intended message of the card
- Symbols or imagery that stand out strongly
- Words or phrases that feel significant
- Intuitive impressions that arise as the cards are revealed
The cards provide the doorway and intuition helps me walk through it and see what needs to be said.
Types of Readings I Offer
I, personally, offer multiple types of readings. What I do may be completely different than another person. I've seen oracle and tarot readers do intuitive readings with one or more cards, and I've seen readers simply read what a card says. I've seen readers get paid and then just read the card meanings right from a book (at which point, you should ask for your money back because you can do that yourself).
If you need a quick yes or no question answered, I can do that with one to three cards. Three cards will allow me to tell you where your head, heart, and soul are at with the question at hand, or what the past, present, and future look like. Those two three-card readings are also great when you want to know what's up with career, romance, and other life stages.
For those seeking a deeper exploration, I also offer larger spreads similar to the traditional Celtic Cross. These readings look at influences, obstacles, hidden energies, and possible outcomes surrounding a question or life path.
Serious Insight — or Mystical Fun
Oracle card readings can be approached in different ways.
For some people, they’re a playful and magical experience — something mysterious and entertaining to explore with friends at an event or gathering.
For others, they offer a moment of genuine insight and reflection.
Both approaches are welcome.
The cards do not dictate your life or lock you into fate. Instead, they illuminate patterns, possibilities, and energies that may be surrounding you right now.
Think of them less as prophecy and more as a lantern held up in the dark.
The Importance of Openness
Intuitive readings work best when there is a little openness to the experience.
Sometimes a person is difficult to read, not because the reader lacks ability, but because the person receiving the reading is energetically or emotionally closed off. Intuition moves through subtle impressions, and those impressions connect more easily when someone is willing to listen.
It’s also important to remember that readings exist within the present moment.
Time moves forward in a straight line, but our choices constantly shape where that line leads. If a card suggests a particular possibility and it doesn’t resonate immediately, that doesn’t necessarily mean the reading is wrong. It may simply mean that your choices lead you somewhere different.
The cards reveal potential — not destiny carved in stone.
What Makes Me Knowledgeable On This Topic
I've been studying oracle and tarot cards since I was a teenager. I've been professionally doing oracle reading since 2018.
I offer oracle card readings at psychic and metaphysical events, where people can stop by for a quick glimpse into the cards or sit down for a deeper reading.
I’m also available for bookings through GigSalad, where I can be hired for parties, gatherings, and special events.
Whether you come to the table with a burning question, quiet curiosity, or simply the desire to experience something mystical, the cards are always ready to speak.
