I was going to write about it
Then didn’t

I going to write about it
Then stopped
Sometimes what goes down before
Can’t be topped
I like to think of international Women’s Day
In a way
That has little relevance today
With so many dreams
Rendered into fantasy it seems
Rewriting the past
To fit the prevailing narrative
Of today
Everything is more Rosy they say
So let’s not gainsay
The current vision
Let the fantasy play
By rules that
Say
We now get OUR way
Not for me to say
So
Let’s make the past
Fit our story
Of today

With eternal fraternal (yet belated) greetings for International Women's Day, March 8, 2026.
If there is any ambiguity evident in my little verse it is not unintended. Read into it what you will. If the meaning of life was crystal clear, then we would have no need of poetry, philosophy, art or, for that matter, religion.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but instead of having a day specially assigned to celebrate something, maybe we should just celebrate everything everyday. Be grateful everyday, you know. Loved your poem!
