The Unnecessary Line

Chasing the unseen depths,

the flipped-over truth,

fuelled by a belief

that rapidly appears,

before a single word

people could speak it,

shaping and shifting everything.

Unsettling memories

linger just beneath the surface.

Wounds that cut so deep they bleed,

taking hold of

every aching bone.

One day gone, one day drawing near.

Riding the rollercoaster's dips and climbs,

never certain when I'll arrive

where dawn ignites in crimson hues.

Some days just breeze by,

everything clicks from the start,

a bright spark beneath screeching tires.

(Copying imitators was never my intention.)

Other days are a slog

like a cart horse

stumbling, misdirecting, and whining.

Looking forward to tomorrow,

to recapture all the missed connections.

They drift in the stale air

hoping to coalesce

into something beautiful,

becoming part of the narrative

persevering through every challenge.
