When I See a Rainbow Flag
A proud poem π³οΈβπ

When I See a Rainbow Flag
It is a beacon,
A nod.
A sign that says you are safe here.
Itβs acceptance. It is hope.
It says we do not tolerate hate here.
A welcome in from the cold.
A family coat of arms.
A blanket to enshroud you and a banner that says Iβm proud of you.
A keep-out sign to hatred and a come-on-in to love.
A siren. A waymark.
A battle cry and peace pennant.
A roaring fire. A cooling breeze.
Forwards AND backwards
It is two fingers
UP!
Itβs a little thing. And colossal.
Itβs flimsy. And strong.
Colourful but clear as black and whiteβ¦
It is
Home.
