Whispers of Memories
To someone so dear

If time could stop in time, a moment frozen in memory, then I would go back and relinquish the days we spent. The noisy mornings in our makeshift apartment and the quiet evenings that strengthened our bond.
If the days would permit me to manipulate them, I would travel back to our jokes and games that shaped our lives. The times spent underneath the clouds and the days spent running about in the grass.
If memories were tangible and lifelike, I would forever hold on to them. The smiles and the cries and every other feeling that flies. I would love to tell you stories again and play pranks you know by name.
But if for nothing at all, I've watched you grow through the years... becoming, learning, defying, building.
So even if time does not permit me to go back, even if the days fly as quickly as they came, and the moments suddenly turn into memories, I would still hold on to what we have. The times we shared in days past.
Because when I look at you... I don't just see you. I see a life being shaped, a future being crafted, an individual soaring.
So here's to more years of laughter and love
To the days the caps will fly
To the days the bells will chime
To the days the glasses will rise to toast
And clink to praise
To the past, present and future
To you my dear, my very dearest.
