Lake Kariba. Zimbabwe.

Largest man made lake in Africa.

By Guy lynnPublished about 2 hours ago 1 min read

🌅 Sunset in Kariba is not just a view… it’s a feeling.

As the sun goes down over Lake Kariba, the sky turns gold, orange and deep purple. The water becomes a mirror. Fishing boats move slowly. The breeze becomes soft.

This is peace.

This is Africa.

This is Zimbabwe 🇿🇼

Have you ever experienced a Kariba sunset?

I have, from 1977 to 1980 during the Rhodesian bush war. I saw this view every evening when looking west towards Zambia. I heard the plaintive cry of the fish eagle. It was so beautiful, and peaceful, even in time of war.

Africa grows in you soul and never leaves.
