Incarceration, rehabilitation, recidivism: The reality of prison life and what it's like to be an inmate locked up behind bars.
RACISM BEHIND BARS
Introduction Hate groups can be found all over the United States, in every state of the union, with names like: Aryan Nation, The American Nazi Party, Church of the Creator, United White Peoples’ Party, and one of the oldest American hate terrorist groups, the Ku Klux Klan, which has many factions around the country. But you rarely think of these groups having much power or say in the jail and prison systems of the United States, where prisoners are watched twenty-four hours a day. But this is the very setting that makes it easy for them to recruit people to follow their messages of hate, people who already want to blame someone for their lives of bad addictions and choices, and extreme violence. “Prison officials estimate that up to 10 percent of the nation’s prison population is affiliated with such gangs” (Bigotry Behind Bars: Racist Groups in U.S. Prisons). These groups (or gangs as they are called ), recruit prisoners who are already prejudice against some minority or those who feel that they got a “bad break” somewhere along the way, and want to put a face on this perceived oppressor.

The Execution of Ted Bundy. Content Warning.
On January 24, 1989, the State of Florida executed serial killer Ted Bundy, nearly a decade after he first took his space on Death Row. Unlike executions before his, Bundy’s became a celebration for Floridians and people across the country who wanted nothing more than to see Bundy fry in the electric chair.

Is Our Prison System Really Effective?
America only has 4% of the total global population but over 25% of the world's prisoner population. This means, if my maths is correct, that if the U.S. had 20% of the world's population, then it'll have over 120% of the world's entire prison population, including its own.

James Ruppert: Ohio's most evil monster has died
My Facebook timeline recently displayed the face of one of Ohio's most despicable human beings. His name was James Ruppert and is enough to make any Ohioan cringe. He had 47 more years of life that he denied his family.

Staying Strong
I started writing people in prison years ago. I started by writing the Son of Sam. He goes by the Son of Hope or let's call him by his real natural name David Berkowitz. He is so sweet. I went on from there and started writing to more people that were behind bars. I wrote Julius Jones and Rosa Jimenez. They were fighting for their freedom. This was many years ago when I started writing my friends behind bars. When I did this it opened my eyes more to how hard it is on them.

Opinion on school shootings
The uvalde shootings disgust me. It also scares me. The fact that there is no way of knowing when something like this may happen, or who it will happen to, is scary. This is my first writing piece on this website, but I’ve thought long and hard about this topic, and I think that my opinions should be heard. I’m also sure, that others will share my views. Obviously, no man in their right minds would ever commit such an atrocious act of violence, let alone against a school of 8-11 year olds. However, I believe he had complete control over his mind and was completely aware of what he was doing. Insanity in a court of law is different from what you and I would consider “insane”. To be found not guilty, you need proof that the defendant was not capable of distinguishing between right and wrong. You also need proof that this mindset you were experiencing was occurring and active during the event (shooting). People who decide to cause a school shooting are usually what is called a “copycat” shooter. A copycat shooter is a shooter that, after seeing that a previous shooter got off with simple jail time, they believe that they can kill multiple children and simply be locked away. Now mind you, 7 counts of first degree murder is already a very long time in prison. However, many of the shooters will fake a mental illness, as to try to be placed in a psych ward instead of prison. But do you think that’s fair? Say your child is sent off to school, and you never see them again. Ever. No parent of family will ever truly recover. Ever. It will be with them every day of their lives.
