Bohemian Rhapsody
I was never a great fan of Queen, mainly due to my homophobic dislike of their camp image. Then I heard this song and I was no longer a homophobe. This lushly produced, multi-layered, mock opera cum heavy progressive rock song blew my mind baby. I am a changed man.

Talk About Killing Your Toxic Relationships!
This song is a perfect description of how you should kill off that toxic relationship before it becomes the death of your self confidence. Even with it being a different language, you feel empowered! The dance also expresses power and strength. Blackpink brings Electropop K-Pop to a whole new level!

A Whiter Shade Of Pale
The anthem that launched the 1967 'Summer of Love'. A song where classical music meets pop. One of the most commercially successful pieces of music, an enduring classic. A song that to this day nobody ever gets tired of listening to. Soulful vocals, a melancholic tone, mysterious lyrics, bliss.

Tug Of War
Here is McCartney finally stepping out of the shadow of the Beatles with a beautifully produced album full of musical gems. The lushly produced title track sings to me at a very deep level about my intimate relationships, to the point of tearing up. The orchestration is to die for.

It's Still In The Air Tonight
Phil Collins's smash hit, In the Air Tonight, was the perfect piece to use in one of the most intense series premieres in television history, Miami Vice. The slow burn to the rhythmic pick-up in the beat, the words perfectly fitting the action, it's never been done any better.

You Suffer by Napalm Death
It may be considered something of a joke by Napalm Death, but how much better an example of how important and impactful brevity can you get than a song with 4 words and lasts precisely 1.316 seconds. "You suffer, but why" sums up so much about the whole human experience.
