8 Ways to Get Over White Bread
We’ve all heard the radio and read the headlines – white flour is officially the devil’s foodstuff. Almost every day we are bombarded with the benefits of giving up white bread, white rice, and white pasta. But why? Because of … refined wheat. Whereas whole wheat is quite nutritious and packed with great dietary fibre, the refined version has been stripped off all its goodness, and can result in a spike in blood sugar which can lead to increased calorie intake .

Tips to Prepare Nutritious Meals Simply
Take your time at the grocery store and refer to your grocery list. Do not run with your shopping cart before you grab your grocery list. Stick to your grocery list for the sake of your grocery budget, list of meals, and nutrition's sake. If you want to stick to your grocery budget and food list, go to the store alone. Do not take your hubby, your kids, the neighbor, a stranger on the street, or anyone else. If I have an ingredient, but I am getting low, I will add it to my grocery list, even though I may not be using it that week and this assures I never run out of that item. When I am in the store, I train my eyes not to wander to food items that are not on my grocery list. This hurts my budget and waistline. Never grocery shop when hungry, everything not good for the body looks exceptionally good to the eye when you are hungry. Somehow these not so nutritious items end up in my cart.

Learn Cooking Tips and Tidbits
I was fortunate to begin cooking at a very young age, learning what I could from my mother who was an excellent cook. You have to have an interest and I had a great interest to learn what I could from the great cooks in my family. I was fortunate to come from a long line of fabulous cooks like my great-grandmother, great-aunt, grandmother, and mom.

Cooking for Kids
So I am the type of person that likes to experiment with food. I honestly can't remember the last time I used a recipe to make a dish. I know that you have to use a recipe for baking, but my son is not a big fan of sweets and I don't have the time to make bread (although I happen to love how my house smells with bread baking in the oven).

How to Make Restaurant Quality Crepes at Home
In order to make restaurant quality crepes at home, I use lactose free milk, three eggs, and flour. I beat the eggs into the one-cup all-purpose flour. Then I manage to use the frying pan to slide the crepe around until it is totally cooked on the bottom. I fry bacon to stuff my crepe with, specifically bacon and cheese. You can also use ham and cheese or Nutella, which I don’t have in the house, that can also be used as a filling. Crepes are a simple meal you can make at any time.
