Checkpoint is Broken in Tarkov Arena
(Intro) Arena has essentially been multiple different games over its lifespan. When it first released, we used pre-built kits from BSG that were annoyingly bad and unbalanced, while working towards the next tiered kit we thought we wanted to use and would be fun, only to realize the fun was the grind towards the new thing instead of the thing itself. A year later, BSG completely did away with the pre-built kits and allows the player to fully customize their kits with some levels of restrictions. Alongside that, new modes and ways of engaging with Arena have been introduced. And for a while, things felt like they were genuinely better than they ever had been. However, recently, I have had some beef with this game right now; specifically with Checkpoint. Essentially, Tarkov’s version of domination from games like Call of Duty. Somehow, with every big update, this game mode feels like it’s getting worse. Just a bunch of smaller changes to mechanics and how the mode works that when put together create an experience that can be downright frustrating at times. At least Arena is still being adjusted pretty consistently, so it’s not like there isn’t room to make more changes that reverse a lot of what feels wrong, at least to me. But let’s have a conversation about Checkpoint in Arena and how it feels like the most broken game mode on offer right now. Granted, there are only four, but twenty-five percent isn’t a good batting average.

Diablo 4 Season 11 finally brought the Paladin into the game, and it didn't take long for the class to settle into the meta. With a mix of holy magic, heavy melee damage, and powerful transformation mechanics, Paladin feels strong from early leveling all the way into high Pit tiers. Thanks to new systems like Disciple Oaths, Juggernaut skills, and Divine Gifts, the class has several builds that work well even without perfect gear. Among them, Judgement Paladin, Arbiter Wing Strikes, and Blessed Hammer have emerged as the most reliable and well-rounded options, capable of handling Torment 4 and endgame content with ease.

What Would Seasonal Tarkov Characters Look Like?
(Intro) Now that Tarkov is past its official launch, we have the full game in front of us. From here, we don’t really know much about the future of the game regarding additional content, expansions, DLCs, and anything else BSG would want to add to the game. With the exception of expanding scavs in some capacity down the line, you either play online with the PvP version of Tarkov or go against full AI enemies by yourself or with friends in PvE. And from the sounds of things, PvE is more popular than anyone anticipated it being. But what about an optional third way to play the game that has been mentioned on more than one occasion by Nikita for years now? Seasonal characters; similar to what something like Diablo or Path of Exile do where every so often your character that is on those servers will wipe consistently, meaning everyone will always be reset at the same time regardless of how deep into the game’s progression you are. We are unsure if this is still even on the table for Tarkov, but I think just the idea alone is interesting enough to be worthy of a conversation. So, let’s talk about seasonal characters in EFT; how would they work, whether or not they would be popular, would the behave any differently than how the game works currently and whether they are still even going to happen for Tarkov. We’re so used to wipes with this game and seasonal characters could be the answer for those who are still interested in resetting a couple of times a year.

Tarkov’s Full Release – 30 Days Later
(Intro) We have now crossed the thirty-day mark on the full release of Tarkov 1.0. And over the last year or so with any large change to the game, I like to come back after about a month or so has passed and reflect on what it’s been like, have the changes felt substantial to the game’s core loop and whether or not it was worth the wait. And while some of the additions have been incredibly interesting to experience and see come to fruition, it isn’t that the things added were bad per say; it’s that at least speaking only for myself, I was expecting a little more. More of the little changes; touch ups here and there, polishing up some of the mess that was left behind. But sadly, we haven’t quite gotten there yet. But we’re getting ahead of ourselves, let’s have a conversation about 1.0 and how after a month, it’s pretty much what I expected, even though my imagination ran wild with the prospect of 1.0 for years. The full release did what it needed to, but I wish there was more done.

Tarkov’s Quests are Overwhelming - At least to Me
(Intro) Tarkov has an insane number of quests for the player to complete. Even before the additional main story with all those new requirements to escape were added, the game had over two hundred quests of all different kinds where the player could interact with across all the maps in the game. And for the longest time, the preverbal carrot on the stick that was Tarkov’s progression was completing quests to unlock better gear at the traders. At least now, there is a true endgame to work towards that isn’t just completing everything, getting the Kappa container, or working through the available achievements in the game. Regardless of how you spend your time in EFT, this is very much a personal anecdote, but for years now I have struggled with the sheer volume of quests or tasks; whatever you want to call them and staying focused on any particular one goal. I find myself so overwhelmed sometimes with all the options at my disposal that I end up sitting at the menu, spending way too much time trying to figure out what I want to do, instead of just loading into raids and doing it. Maybe this is just a me thing; maybe there is someone else out there who feels the same way and this video can resonate with them, but if I feel completely overwhelmed by Tarkov’s tasks. Both the side quests we’ve been doing for years, and all the new story missions as well.

Interchange Received Tarkov’s Best Expansion – Here’s Why
(Intro) Interchange finally got the expansion it desperately needed, and it feels awesome to play on. For years, this map has been boiled down to essentially one focal point on the map with not much else going on for it. Granted, it makes sense; the mall has tons of loot scattered throughout and within the context of the lore for EFT, it is critical to the operations of Ragman who has connections with multiple of the traders we interact with. But for a long time, it felt like Interchange was missing something; an extra layer or point of interest that could allow people to go somewhere else other than the mall if they don’t want to head straight into one of Tarkov’s largest Thunderdome's. And while the power station was another building for people to explore and I use that word loosely because it’s so small, even with the addition of the power switch and Ref locked rooms, the rest of the map felt like it was the least thought out after the main attraction was figured out. So, come summertime, when on their roadmap for this year they had an expansion to Interchange listed as one of the additions coming, I was very excited, but also mainly curious what they could possibly change on the map to give it more life and something other to do than just the mall. And luckily, the update delivered. So, let’s go over what’s new with the Interchange expansion, compare it to other maps getting larger and why this might be the best expansion when it comes to new POI’s, mechanics and bringing life back into an old map. It’s been a long time coming for Interchange, and it’s pretty much everything I wanted and then some.

Diablo 4 Season 11 Kurast Undercity Update
Diablo 4 Season 11’s Kurast Undercity update gives one of the game’s grind-heavy activities a much-needed boost. Blizzard clearly set out to make Undercity runs feel more rewarding, especially for players pushing Torment difficulties or trying to gear up new characters. The dungeon was known for slow progression and underwhelming drops, so these changes go straight at the biggest complaints. With better legendary rewards, more runes, improved Obducite drops, and stronger XP gains, the Undercity goes from something you only farm because you “have to” into a spot you actually want to run.
