How Georgie Found Me
Once upon a time... It was just another July day when I went down to my uncle's car to see if he had a pack of cigarettes in his glove compartment (for him, not me). The busy main street just by our condominium complex was clogged with after-work traffic, which had gotten back to normal even only a few months after the pandemic had begun to rage in the United States.

When 1 Becomes 2
I had already adopted a white and black kitten a few years earlier when living with my Mum but moving in with my partner into a top floor flat with a strict NO PETS ALLOWED policy meant that my little Bandit stayed in the family home while I flew the nest. After living that top floor life for a year with no bundle of fluff to love and hold each night my first priority and condition of moving once more was that I get a pet.

The Tragic Death It Could Have Been If We Never Met And How This Little Guy Picked Me
I have nothing against dogs, or any other pet, so don't judge by the fact that I prefer cats. They're a more independent type of pet, usually, that is, and often times are just as entertaining as any other creature we adopt for our homes. Not to mention the fact that the little things don't require fenced-in yards to run if you're too busy to always be there for a dog. That said, if people have dogs, I do realize how much fun they are but the animal has to fit the owner as much as the owner has to fit the animal.

My Rescue.
The year is 2009, furthermore, I have finally gotten my life together. As much as a nineteen-year-old can think she has her life together. I started a new job that was paying me well enough to finally move out of my ex-boyfriend’s parent’s house. Yes, it was as awkward as it sounds. Now I lived with two girls, in a house, in a good part of town, and I thought my life was as good as it was going to get. Just another time in my life I turned out to be wrong. The girl that owned the house, Karla, was gifted two little black puppies and of course, I melted. Who doesn’t melt for puppies? Well, Karla told me she was keeping one for sure.

Tex: My Uncommon Rescue Cat
Tex is an adult male, tuxedo kitty, not typical markings, but close enough, and he has a particular story to tell. I adopted him as the seventh of my rescue cats over the last 25+ years. Four of my rescue kitties have traveled on to their own hereafter. So now with my three remaining, Abby--a beautiful Rag Doll, Callie--a feisty Calico, and Tex--a shy, big, softhearted, dressed-up-to-his-nine-lives guy, we are a family, including all that unexpected groupings bring with them.
