So, I Got A Dog...
I missed my walks. I was used to walking through the Mountain Park near my house several times a week. I looked for the wildflowers in the warm months and watched for footprints in the snow in the cold. I gazed at the tops of hundred-foot pine trees, and I kicked rocks down the road. My fuzzy companion kept pace, stopping now and then to smell a bush or pee on a tree stump. Unfortunately, Cole Dog died. The little black dog that walked with me every day got old and tired, and I had to say good-bye. He was gone.

My Shelter Dog
Trixie was a shelter dog, a mutt on death row when we found her at the pound and rescued her. The coloring and appearance is similar to a doberman pinscher, her body resembling that of a pit bull or bull mastiff, and of medium size, weighing in around 50-60 Ib. She had a few white hairs on her chest and snout. A dog that didn’t bark, she stood out from every other dog that raged around in their cages. Her eyes were brown and sad and her ears and attitude were perky, licking my face, giving me doggy kisses.

Our Rescue Girl Roxy…
2 months ago, my partner and I took a trip to a local rescue centre to visit a sweet looking lurcher x “German shepherd”. She instantly melted our hearts, we met her at her outside kennel where she excitedly jumped and bounced away as the staff told us her story.

Upstairs Dog
Amid the clamor of New York City, in a silent, dark and dank basement, a baby canine’s chest barely lifted as she struggled to breathe. She was wasted, withered, with crusty skin sagging over her protruding ribs. Clumps of black fur created a pattern of splotches over her emaciated body. And heavy, metal brackets were duct taped to her left front leg. She couldn’t stand. She couldn’t move. Stuck on her flank on the cold cement floor as cucarachas crawled in and out of her wounds, nibbling on her flesh. And fleas and infections ravaged what was left of her.

Z Year two of my overseas contract. I’m working at a private international baccalaureate school as an elementary counselor. It’s the dream of job of a lifetime of work in education. I’ve just moved from my first rather bland apartment on the 2nd floor in another building to the coolest 25 sq. meter, 5th floor loft, perched on a steep incline high above the neighborhood of Ortokoy in Istanbul Turkey. I have a precarious balcony that opens up onto the pink blue gray vistas of endless buildings sloping down to the water’s edge of the Bosphorous strait. It is a highly coveted one room studio that will be my abode for the next year.

Pets Welcome!
It is difficult to imagine a world without pets, especially today with the bad news and media featuring the riots and protests that revolves around the wrongful deaths of African - Americans in the world.. Pets are the one thing that can change people’s mood and mental state in a positive direction and they really do make everything better. I have four of them myself and I never felt happier and safe before. Without further ado, I will introduce them to the world.

I wanna be a cowboy, Baby!
Meet The latest edition to my furry rescue Family! He came to me so disturbed he was required to take prescriptions of trazadone and Prozac and remained unruly. It took the patience of a saint, but this little man is a snuggly sweetheart that transforms into a larger than life beast when the doorbell rings! He feels the need to take charge of his older senior sisters ( when they let him!). We are a true work in progress and this cowboy’s work is never done watching out for his family

Adopting a Rescue Dog
My husband and I had shelled out a pretty penny for our first dog, a German Shepherd that we named Otto. Bred to work, he was from healthier European stock, and, we decided, that was worth the money. Besides, Wyatt was dead set on training a puppy.

A discourse community may seem like a complicated concept at first, but it is pretty simple, with just six straightforward characteristics that define a discourse community. A discourse community has to have an agreed set of goals, mechanisms of intercommunication, methods for information and feedback, one or more genres, specific lexis, and a varied level of members (Swales 221-22). Discourse communities can possibly range from sports teams, companies, restaurants, to sororities, fan groups, and religion.

International Dog of Mystery
April 15 2004 to April 27 2018 Gilda Radner Baggott died after a brief illness on 27 April 2018 at the age of 14. Beloved dog of Kate, Brian and Mary, Gilda was a dog of unprecedented calm and awareness who came into our lives in September 2011. We arrived at the rescue shelter just a few minutes before another family who had been attracted by the adoption profile with the line: “Gilda loves children above everything…”
