Soft Sigh

#5 of 6 I came across this little beauty. It was like no other leaf I’d seen. So I thought it was a good find. Reminds me of a half butterfly, the way it was placed, compared to the one at the back. Hence the inspiration for this haiku. There is a butterfly haiku I am also loving by Sean. A, I will link his below.

Rain comes down like spies.

🌧️

Limp leaf, flap like butterflies.

🦋

Wings fall, like soft sigh.

A masterpiece, Caitlin. Every one of the three lines is a gem. Very nicely done. So now have first ,second and third 😉😉

  • That leaf certainly does look like half a butterfly. I especially loved the idea of rain coming down likw spies. Loved your beautiful photo and Haiku!

  • Such beauty settled in these three lines. A delicate ceremony from a sneaky rain. I love the line “Limp leaf, flap like butterflies” it’s so vivid and full of movement. Beautifully done Caitlin.

-Soft sigh- is the perfect sentiment to end the poem. Makes me feel sympathy for every leaf who has come and gone.
