Parental Drug Addiction & Impact on Children
Despite the fact that there is a strong link between parental drug addiction and the development of the child, research has found that there is also a significant connection between substance abuse and mental health problems in the children of substance abusers. For example, addiction in the parent can contribute to the child's low socioeconomic status, which may lead to the neglect of the child. These children may also face domestic violence, lack food, and school support.

Red light, green light, 1 2 3.
It feels like I can't trust someone if they do not open up right away. It feels weird if it takes a lot of time to know someone or become involved in their personal life. It is even suspicious if for weeks into months the connection is slow. It could feel like I am being ignored, neglected, or even that the person is detached if they want time alone often. Why do I feel this way?

What Is Impostor Syndrome And How Do You Start To Work On It?
What is impostor syndrome? Impostor syndrome originally termed ‘Imposter Phenomenon’ was first described by Pauline Clance, PhD, and Suzanne Imes, PhD, in their research article “Imposter Phenomenon in High Achieving Women: Dynamics and Therapeutic Interventions” 1978. It is defined by the feelings of intellectual inferiority, or in simple terms the feeling of being a fraud, especially in working life. People who suffer with imposter Syndrome struggle to attribute their successes or achievements to their own ability, and will often put them down to luck, good timing, a fluke, or just play them down entirely.

Loneliness is the Fuel for Success
I am a lonely person. I have always been and I always will be from what I can tell. How lonely am I? I read every spam and junk email. I accept every friend request on Facebook and still have about 40 friends. I talk to telemarketers and go on to explain at great length why I cannot afford to apply for a personal loan right at this moment. I donate my blood whenever there is a blood drive coming to my neighborhood because they always call me and even leave kind voicemails. When I am texting, I respond to every comment and react to it by sending myriad of emoticons and GIFs. My text box is almost always the very last one left unanswered in the thread to signal the end of the conversation for the day.

Writing about trauma is a work of art.
Here's an answer to a question no one has ever asked me, but I have prepared an answer to anyways. I think people are actually AFRAID to write about their traumas widely because it will mean those things happened and have to be dealt with. NOT because people are afraid of those stories being read.

Be Careful of the Dust Devils
by: Dennis R. Humphreys Every morning was the same, not similar...the same. Randy Kruegur, an older gentleman, stumbled from his dilapidated RV, rubbing his untrimmed, graying beard and kicking at the Mormon crickets heading for the shade of his vehicle from the rising desert sun. The man had been living out here in the desert for twenty years as an escapee from the outside world of stupidity and selfishness he loathed. He left behind some family but more importantly he left behind the headaches of interpersonal relationships. He came out to this Northern Nevada desert to look for gold. He found some but just enough to supplement his social security, which was the only money he had coming in, and not that much of that.
