Are British Airways Avios Air Miles Worth Collecting?
I never collected Airmiles, but I have been collecting Avios for many years, and I do recommend collecting them if you like to travel, as you can collect them for free and get money off travel. I have flown long-haul on several occasions at a fraction of the price of a normal ticket by using my Avios points. However, you often have to be flexible with your travel dates and routes in order to get the best deal. Also, BA customer services are appalling if you even need to contact them for anything. So using Avios definitely has its pro's and con's.

Since we began using them, we’ve had a wonderful experience, so there was no question about re-booking with British Airways (BA). Also, to our advantage, we always buy travel insurance. We learned the hard way it is better to spend a couple of hundred dollars more on insurance than not have any at all.

When Things Go Wrong At 35,000 Feet
It is something we think will never happen to us. It is safer to fly now than ever. But is it really? Those of us who work the industry knows there can be sever turbulence which can cause severe injuries. We pray that we see that aircraft back from it's flight. We worry about the passengers and crew getting to their destination safely. We worry about the children flying alone and no one to cling to in scary moments. We have had some scary moments the last several years involving aviation disasters or near disasters.

With all the talk this week about Spirit Airlines cancellations, brawls on their planes and in the airports, long lines, and the inability to rebook a flight, it brought back my experience just two weeks ago. This wasn't all the fault of Spirit, but they need to take some responsibility! I had never flown Spirit before and I was about to take it from Newark, New Jersey to my home in Los Angeles.
