I built a time machine out of Lego
OK, I didn't literally build a time machine. I mean, Lego certainly doesn’t contain the requisite pieces to overcome the current rules of time and space, so I was speaking figuratively. But it was still an amazing journey.

Is psychological safety just some words that don't mean anything?
I once heard an excellent explanation for what psychological safety is: It’s where the person with the least amount of power in an organization feels safe going to the person with the most power in an organization and saying, “I don’t agree with this”.

When I see a pile of dirt, it reminds me of you. Top Story - October 2025.
So that title really doesn’t paint the best picture. Allow me to explain. I’m sure we all do it; we have something in life that might remind us of someone. You might smell a particular perfume, and it reminds you of a woman you once knew, or you hear a song that brings back memories of a road trip you did with two other mates. This is one of those scenarios, just probably less flattering for my friend.

I think I found out why I don't like hospitals
I’ve never liked hospitals or doctors, and I know that’s a regular statement, but I have always had a serious aversion to the whole medical profession. Up until I was about 18-19 years old, I would regularly pass out while having my blood pressure taken. I only started giving blood regularly when I was diagnosed with haemochromatosis, otherwise known as inherited iron overload disorder.

I did my usual scroll through my email inbox on my phone, nothing too critical, a lot of spam, but then one that made me pause. It wasn’t the reaction of “Hey, maybe that is a legit $1 million win”, instead, it was an email from an old boss.

The Legoland Boutique Hotel Mystery
“You come highly recommended as the best private detective in Legoland”, the hotel manager had remarked. Ace Brickman saw no need to highlight that there were no other private detectives in Legoland. “But we have a bit of an emergency, and I feel that we could do with someone equally capable and discreet,” the manager continued. Ace tried to get some specifics, but before he could, the manager concluded with, “Come to the hotel right away”, and hung up.
