Former President Biden's Cancer Diagnosis Whether you liked what he did as president or hated it, the diagnosis President Biden and his family shared with the world should earn him your sympathies. There is no scarier time in a person's life than to hear the word cancer, much less to hear advanced stage, already metastasized, cancer. To be clear, I think Joe was an example of everything wrong in Washington, DC politics. To be even clearer, he has my sympathies.

A storm with eighty-mile-an-hour winds whipped into the cavern, rustling the tents at basecamp and keeping their occupants from getting much sleep. Jonas sat at a computer watching the images from the drone flights over the barrier around the second structure inside the mountain. The second structure was the mystery.

At the edge of death, there is nothing one won't do to survive. Under the beating sun of a hellscape of desert and rock, being lost for days is a sure way to meet one's end. With the tenaciousness of a thousand soldiers, even the most demure might make it, if they're lucky or willing to suffer. And it was suffering felt beneath the heat of the midday so long ago.
